Austin Champ 10689, 06 BF 89, VSL 791

10689, 06 BF 89, VSL 791. Sold on eBay January 2015 £6,200. Seller's description, "This Austin Champ belongs to a friend of mine who has moved out of the district and cannot take it with him. He has no access to the internet at this time and has asked that I sell the Champ on his behalf. This I am happy to do. He has owned this vehicle since 2010 and has spent many hours (and much money!) to keep it in the condition shown to-day. My knowledge of these military machines is severely restricted so, the ad' copy following is written using the owners notes..... This is an 'FFW' (Fitted For Wireless) model. However (as with most of the type) the two speed generator and wireless mounting cradle have been removed - with 'GS' seats put in the rear space. Has correct aerials (two sets) Other points of interest: A recent 'Worthing' hood in perfect condition. All good tyres (Spare unused) Good seat covers with 'Officers Document Pockets' A full set of Pioneer Tools (the machete is chained in situ' for security purposes!) Crank handle and jack, plus extra bottle jack. Duck boards present front and rear. Part stainless exhaust system including downpipe & tail pipe. NOTE the silencer is Mild Steel. (Note added 26/01/15) Professionally restored fuel tank. Good batteries (always stored with C-TEK charger attached) Set of non standard instruments mounted in a case on the dash-board. Full set of side screens (ill fitting but OK for rain protection at Shows etc.) Tarpaulin with fasteners to cover whole vehicle. Useful for rain protection as above. Standard issue fire extinguisher is in place but empty. There is a modern serviceable unit fitted in the driver foot well. Always well maintained. KNOWN FAULTS: Starter motor sticks occasionally (Dirty terminals?) Fuel gauge reads erratically. Comes with lots of history, bills, old MOT's, back issues of 'Champ World', Current V5, a new set of fan belts, set of spare keys, military grease nipple adaptor, new oil pressure switch etc. etc. Obviously, the V5 is not in my name, but ownership can easily be verified. A good honest example of this popular military vehicle, ready to go/show or whatever Champ owners do!"
